Current density measurements reflect synchronized neuronal discharges. LORETA provides a precise localization of the origin of abnormal deep current source densities which are th sources of abnormal widely spread EEG activity on the surface of the brain.
LORETA measurements reflect the highly synchronized activity of neighboring neuronal populations. The measurements used on our analysis are given in standard deviation units Z scores that indicate hyper or hypo excitability of neuronal activity for each measured region in relation to the normative database.
